DGH? Who?

A young man with curly brown hair sits in front of a microphone in a room with guitars hanging on the wall and a bookshelf with plants and framed pictures in the background.

I’m Dan, or DGH as you might know me. (my initials - creative, I know!)

When I was younger, around 12 or 13, I had a dream of becoming a big gaming YouTuber. That’s actually how I ended up teaching myself Photoshop. I wanted to design my own YouTube profile photo and banner, and then started doing the same for friends. It became such a passion that I kept learning, went on to get a design degree, and now I’m lucky enough to call it my career.

A lot of you probably found me through my Instagram where I ran a 500-day poster challenge, creating a new design every day for nearly a year and a half. It was an incredible (and exhausting) experience, but it helped me discover what I actually wanted to make and how to make that process more accessible for everyone else.

Now I work full-time as a freelance designer, creating everything from artist covers and merch to global branding projects for a range of clients. I now understand the importance of optimising your time. I’ve spent countless hours on Photoshop creating effects so that you don’t have to. Once you’ve found your style, you start to notice you’re using the same assets and techniques repeatedly. After making over 500 posters, I’ve refined my own process from a task that takes hours, down to minutes, and it’s only fair to share it with you all.

Here you’ll find a collection of assets I use in my everyday work. These are the things that make designing faster, cleaner, and more enjoyable. You’ll also find a few prints of mine available too. If you like what you see, grab something. It helps me keep creating and sharing more design tricks, tips, and ideas with you all.

Thanks for being here.
Dan
